Delicious Picpoul from the Montagnac commune. An old legend tells that the Picpoul grape was so browned and sweet at maturity that poultry on the shore of lake Thau enjoyed this sweet varietal when wine-harvest was coming, that’s how the name Pique Poule was born.
Light, crisp and dry white from the south of France, full of orange blossom, white peach and lemon citrus with mouth watering acidity and a refreshing finish.
The Montagnac cellar was created way back in 1937 and now stretches over 2,000 hectares across the Languedoc region of the south of France, making the most of the clay-limestone soils and the influence of the Mediterranean ocean influence to produce food friendly, approchable white wines.
Classically paired with oysters or shrimp, works great with salt cod croquettes and other tapas style small plates.
