Fine Wine from Our Bottle Shop and Taproom:
"Hermandad" translates as brotherhood, which is a nod to the four siblings of the Falasco family that make these wines: Franco, Florencia, Fausto & Francesco.
Made from grapes at 1,100 metres above sea level, this is high altitude malbec. Altitude brings cooler temperatures – especially at night – and that helps retain acidity in the grapes as they ripen, whilst melt-water from the snow-capped Andes provides much-needed irrigation in this very dry area of Argentina.
This is a full bodied, rich wine revealing deliciously ripe black fruit flavours supported by black cherries and juicy plums, there are also hints of violets and vanilla spice from 15 months in new French oak barrels; it is full-bodied and seductive with great texture and a long finish.
