This is an indigenous red found only in Catalonia, grown at high altitude on old vines. Sumoll is a nice alternative for fans of Pinot Noir. It ferments for 2 months in amphora, at which point the juice is pressed off and then returned to amphora for another 9 months on its lees. Notes of bramble fruits, cherries, minerals, and dried herbs come through, with easy tannins.
